Discovering the Real You

When we introduce ourselves, women typically describe ourselves in terms of our relationships (the wife, mother, daughter, sister, or friend of someone else) or our accomplishments (our title, position, education, or accolades). When our identity is wrapped up in these external things, we inevitably--and exhaustingly!--strive to prove ourselves worthy of love, attention, or affirmation. But God never meant for us to focus on whether we are "enough," whether we measure up. He made us--every piece of us--to be just as he is. Jerusha Clark discovered this while exploring the seven powerful "I am" statements of Jesus recorded in the Gospel of John.  This talk, based on Jerusha's book, Every Piece of Me, helps women shatter toxic thinking and discovering what's real, true, and good about God, about themselves, and about the world around them.  This talk can also form part of a one or three-day women’s retreat (see below).

Winning the Battle in Your Mind

Why do women never feel good enough? This talk, based on Jerusha's book, Every Thought Captive, explores the hidden recesses of a woman’s thought life.  Jerusha will discuss the lies that keep women from experiencing the life Christ died to give them—a life of abundance and freedom.  Candid teaching about fear and worry, envy and greed, and body image will help women expose the lies that keep their minds captive.  Jerusha then equips women to replace these thoughts with solid biblical truths.  This talk can also form part of a one or three-day women’s retreat (see below).

Making Wise Decisions in a Choice-Crazy World

Every day, we are bombarded with hundreds of choices.  Some (whether to wear blue or green for that family picture, for instance) have little influence on who we are or how we live.  Many decisions, however, do impact--and dramatically so--the direction and quality of our lives.  In this talk, based on her book, The Life You Crave, Jerusha helps women discover or re-discover the biblical concept of discernment, which helps us to make wise and God-honoring decisions.  Through frank yet gracious discussion of how we spend our free time and resources, the words we use and what we think about God and ourselves, Jerusha walks women through some of the most important decisions they can make. This talk can also form part of a one or three-day women’s retreat (see below).

Making Sense of Suffering

Why does God allow so much pain in the world? How can trust that God is both good and just when the evidence of our lives (and, truthfully, of the entire world) often seems to point in the opposite direction?  These are questions that many Christians wrestle with day after day.  In this vulnerable and honest talk, Jeramy and Jerusha explore what suffering teaches us about ourselves, each other, and God.

Book the Clarks together or Jerusha on her own

From personal experience, the Clarks understand depression.  After delivering both of her daughters, Jerusha suffered from extremely severe postpartum depression.  With vulnerable care, cutting-edge biological research and a biblical foundation, The Clarks will help both those who struggle with depression, and those walking with a depressed loved one, deal with myths and misconceptions about depression.  They/she will also provide great hope through an honest presentation of the facts and exploration of scriptures that both encourage and heal.

Inside a Cutter’s Mind: Understanding and Helping Those Who Self-Injure

This talk presents the facts about self-injury, a growing problem both in the US and abroad.  Though many people believe self-injury is simply a phase that teenagers go through, statistics tell us otherwise.  Millions of adults struggle with self-inflicted violence, and the problem does not go away on its own. With grace and truth, Jerusha prepares family members, friends, ministers, teachers and counselors to understand and help those who self-harm.  Incorporating teaching about the biochemical, emotional and spiritual realities of self-injury, Jerusha provides an essential framework for anyone who knows and wants to help a self-harmer.  This talk can be used in Christian and/or secular settings such as public schools or community organizations.

The Truth About Cutting and Eating Disorders

With statistics, Scripture, and personal stories, Jerusha helps family members, friends, ministers, teachers and counselors understand and help those who are cutting and/or struggling with an eating disorder.  Since a great percentage of those who self-harm also battle disordered eating, Jerusha presents the two together, equipping listeners with knowledge and practical help.  This talk can be used in Christian and/or secular settings such as public schools or community organizations.

Discovering the Real You in the Great I Am

This retreat, based on Jerusha's book, Every Piece of Me, helps women shatter toxic thinking and discovering what's real, true, and good about God, about themselves, and about the world around them.  Issues include busyness, authenticity, identity, fear, worry, shame, and finding lasting freedom in Christ.

The Truth Shall Set You Free

Over the course of a weekend, Jerusha will help women explore how their thoughts define who they are.  Exploring many of the issues that consume women’s thoughts—identity, fear and worry, body image, sexuality,  unforgiveness and resentment, relationships, envy and greed, busy schedules and deep discouragement—Jerusha will guide women in exposing the lies they believe and the biblical truths that set them free.  Encouraging women to replace toxic beliefs with God-honoring truths, Jerusha will leave listeners equipped with practical suggestions and hope that can endure.

The Life You Crave

This three-day retreat will direct women’s thoughts to how their decisions can dramatically influence the course of the lives.  Many Christians have lost an understanding of an essential part of faith—the exercise of discernment.  Jerusha will help women understand and begin to use this amazing gift God gives to every believer.  Candid discussion of the decisions women must make about their emotions, bodies, words, relationships, free time and resources, role in the church and personal relationship with God will encourage women to live in the glorious promise of discernment.
